Take Two and Call Me in the Mourning

The upcoming and ever-controversial DSM-5 will reduce or remove the time period of grief before depression can be diagnosed.

Is this further medicalisation of the ordinary distress of modern living? Or can a nugget of bona fide depression, reactive to treatment, exist in bereavement? More importantly, can and does this help?
